There's only been one time somebody asked me to exchange money in bitcoins. It was a blackmail attempt.

A paper letter came in the mail, threatening to tell everybody! my awful secret! If i don't pay him! a bitcoin! (plus 2 pages of instructions how to do that)

It was pretty funny actually. No information in the letter was specific to me other than my name and address. (And the address was wrong.) Blackmail dude must have sent thousands of these hoping to hit somebody guilty and gullible.
