Are you interested in a federated alternative to Goodreads that doesn't use Amazon?

because I'm making a federated alternative to Goodreads that doesn't use Amazon

@tripofmice yes Goodreads needs replacing but why have it federated?

@ykgoon lots of reasons!
- it can interoperate with Mastodon, pixelfed etc
- I think that a multitude of small interrelated communities is better than one megacommunity
- distributes rather than centralizes the work of running instances
- allows for specialized, customized, or private instances
- distributes the work of moderation and the moderation norms to communities
- I don't want to try to run a huge thing (as a sys admin or a moderator)
